Our Civil team works on some of Australia’s largest and most dynamic projects, shaping the built environment, transport networks, precincts and essential infrastructure. You will influence outcomes from early planning through to delivery, working on complex projects where decisions have lasting impact. With a solid pipeline of secured work, the team is positioned for sustained delivery across some of Australia’s most significant projects.

You will also contribute to advancing how digital engineering and data are applied to improve project outcomes and delivery efficiency.

 

 

About the role:


We are seeking an ambitious and dynamic Technical Civil Associate - Digital Design to assist in the growth and development of our Civil Engineering division in Brisbane. This key engineering role will be responsible for planning, managing and successfully delivering engineering projects of a complex nature.

 

Alongside delivery, you will contribute to improving digital workflows and adopting model-based and data-driven approaches within the Civil discipline.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  1. Identifying technical innovation opportunities and team capability gaps, developing and delivering individual and team training plans
  2. Assist in developing and delivering a broad suite of training opportunities aligned with professional development pathways
  3. Assist the CDO to identify and implement improvements in Computational Design, interoperability, and optimisation - focused on improving design efficiency and project delivery
  4. Support the Discipline Principal Engineer in monitoring emerging software trends – including automation and AI-enabled tools relevant to civil design
  5. Apply advanced design and documentation principles to deliver effective, coordinated solutions using model-based design approaches
  6. Improve efficiency and implementation of tools including 12D, Civil 3D, BIM and visualisation – including leveraging models as a source of project data
  7. Identify and implement opportunities to streamline or automate design and documentation workflows
  8. Support the uplift of digital capability within the Civil team through mentoring and practical application of tools and workflows

 

 

We are looking for someone with...

 

  1. 15+ years of demonstrated design experience
  2. Ability to solve complex problems and critically assess designs
  3. Experience in production of detailed engineering drawings
  4. Knowledge of construction methods and their impact on design
  5. Understanding of design and commercial risk, with contract management experience
  6. Experience working with project managers and architects
  7. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  8. Business development capability
  9. Strong capability in 12D, Civil 3D and BIM environments, with experience in coordinated digital delivery
  10. Understanding of digital models as data sources to support design and project outcomes
  11. Experience or interest in automation, computational design, or workflow optimisation
  12. Willingness to adopt emerging tools, including AI, where they improve efficiency and outcomes
