We work with our clients from the outset to generate sustainable, whole of life-cycle outcomes for communities and the natural environment.

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a full-time Associate Civil Engineer for our Darwin Office. Reporting to the Practice Manager, the purpose of the role is to be responsible for planning, managing and successfully delivering engineering projects of a complex nature.

Some of your duties will involve:

  • Carrying out and managing of detailed designs for all types of projects and all aspects of the project.
  • Ensuring the designs are innovative, prepared to a high standard and in accordance with the needs and expectations of our clients.
  • Concept designs are developed in accordance with ADG's value proposition around innovation and value engineering.
  • Managing project resources including Engineers, Technicians and Admin Support to ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Monitoring the project budget in terms of hours/costs, work in progress, and debtor collection where applicable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • Chartered Member (CPEng) of Institute of Engineers Australia or ability and desire to obtain

Skills & Knowledge

  • 10+ years of demonstrated design experience
  • Ability to think and solve problems
  • Critically assess and review designs by others
  • Experience in production of detailed engineering drawings commensurate with level of duties.
  • Knowledge of construction methods and their impact on design
  • Understands design and commercial risk
  • Demonstrable contract management experience
  • Experience in liaising with project managers and architects effectively
  • Strong communication skills across all parties
  • Able to maintain relationships at different levels within client organisations
