Solve Complex Structural Challenges on Australia’s Largest Projects

Our Structures team works on some of Australia’s largest and most dynamic projects, where innovative design decisions directly shape how things are built. You will influence outcomes from early concept through to delivery, working closely with architects, builders and clients. Known for innovation and supported by AtkinsRéalis’ global systems, tools and specialist teams, you can stay focused on complex engineering, problem‑solving and delivery rather than administration. If you want technically challenging work, ownership of your designs and the satisfaction of seeing them built, this role delivers.

About the Role

ADG currently have an exciting opportunity to appoint a Junior Structural Design Technician, to join our Hobart office. You will work closely with the structural team and quickly gain exposure to projects/clients locally as well as a variety of projects across the region and wider Australia.

The purpose of this position is to be responsible for undertaking drafting tasks of basic scope and complexity under the direction and guidance of more senior drafters.

The successful candidate will produce quality detail drawings on AutoCAD / REVIT or other software programs in use within the office that meet ADG standards and assist Engineers/Drafters in the production of contract documentation.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Preferably be enrolled/completed in a tertiary education course.
  • Previous experience in documenting residential and commercial high and low-rise structures, using AutoCAD and REVIT would be beneficial.
  • The ability to find innovative, out of the box solutions
  • Ability to interpret and carry out instructions
  • Proactive and self-motivated with excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to adhere to production schedules
